If you don't know who Mike Dean is. He's the mastermind behind Kanye West's albums among many others. This interview may not be for everyone & the first five minutes you might be thinking - what the? But what grabbed my attention was the stories behind the beat. Also a great story about Kanye hiring an entire floor of a New York Hotel to produce part of his album.
Mike Dean is best known for pioneering the "Dirty South" sound with his production, innovation and style. Mike has most notably worked alongside Scarface of the Geto Boys, Tupac Shakur, Do or Die, Tha Dogg Pound,Yukmouth of the Luniz, Outlawz, C-Bo, Nate Dogg, Tech N9ne, UGK, Z-RO, Devin the Dude and others, producing, mixing and mastering many hits and multi-platinum albums.
He has also mixed and co-produced numerous records for Kanye West, including those on Late Registration,Graduation, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, and Common's Finding Forever.
