Tropical Cyclone Vania hits East Coast of Queensland - Surfers Dream!!

Sunshine Coast
Gold Coast
Northern New South Wales
This time of year on the east coast of Australia, is a surfer's dream. Due to the the large amount of Tropical Cyclones that create huge groundswells along the east coast. This results in some of the biggest waves seen all year. Some of the best spots along the coast are only surfable with a swell this big.

Solid surf across the region into the end of the week with new longer period E swell already pushing up into the four to six foot range on Friday morning. A further building trend occurred during the afternoon, leading in a significant increase by Saturday morning.

A building trend in ENE groundswell affects the East Coast over the weekend and early next week; a significant event associated with the evolution of Tropical Cyclone Vania (TC Vania) over the Coral Sea on Wednesday.
